Layna Smith, MSS, LSW

Mental Health Therapist (LSW/Supervised)

Layna Smith is a Licensed Social Worker with more than two decades of experience spanning both clinical and macro social work. She holds a Master of Social Service from Bryn Mawr College’s Clinical Practice program and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Social Work (DSW) at Millersville University. Her clinical background includes outpatient therapy, mobile therapy, behavioral health, enhanced case management, and school-based counseling, providing her with a deeply grounded, community-centered perspective on care.

Layna’s practice is collaborative, person-centered, and rooted in equity. She believes meaningful support begins with meeting people where they are and brings that commitment to every client relationship. She is passionate about fostering reflective practice, strengthening professional connections, and supporting growth that is both authentic and lasting.

In addition to her clinical work, Layna serves as Practicum Director at West Chester University, where she guides MSW students through their field education journeys and cultivates strong community partnerships. She is an active member of the National Association of Social Workers, the Association of Black Social Workers, and the Council on Social Work Education.

Outside of her professional roles, she enjoys running, hosting gatherings, and traveling. She lives by the words of Arthur Ashe: “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.”
